# Mispar Survey: Orthodox and Chassidish New Yorkers Worry About Anti-Semitism in Mayoral Election

There is significant concern within the **Jewish community** regarding the prospect of **Zohran Mamdani** becoming mayor of New York. He has previously made hostile, anti-Semitic remarks and has raised questions about his ability to ensure public safety for Jewish residents.

## Methodology

We conducted a poll of New York–based Chassidish and Orthodox community members from our exclusive research panel (**n = 123**) ahead of the mayoral election to gauge how concerned they are about the mayoral election, their candidate preferences, and the issues most influencing their votes.

 

## Key Findings

- Among respondents, **92% reported being “very concerned” or “somewhat concerned”** about the possibility of Mamdani winning the mayoral election.
- In this sample, the majority (**65%**) indicated they plan to vote for Andrew Cuomo, **13%** were undecided or do not plan to vote, and **0%** reported intending to vote for Mamdani.
- Among those planning to vote, concern about **anti-Semitism in New York** emerged as the most important issue influencing their decision in the mayoral election.
