The Frum Community’s Response to Trump’s Handling of the Iranian Nuclear Threat

On June 16, 2025—exactly one month before the outbreak of the 12-day war between Israel and Iran—The Economist conducted a national poll asking Americans: “Do you approve or disapprove of the way Donald Trump is handling the Iran issue?” Just 37% of Americans expressed approval. That same day, Mispar conducted a parallel poll among Orthodox and Chassidish Jews in the United States.

Methodology & Recruitment

We surveyed 164 members of Mispar’s exclusive panel of Orthodox and Chassidish Jewish Americans. All respondents were over the age of 18 and English-speaking. Participants were asked: “How do you feel President Donald Trump is handling the current conflict between Israel and Iran?” Responses were captured on a five-point ordinal-level scale ranging from “very well” to “very poorly”.

Participants were recruited from Mispar’s proprietary panel, composed exclusively of Orthodox and Chassidish American Jews. Respondents received panel points redeemable for a Visa gift card as appreciation for their time.

Key Findings

78% of frum Jews said Trump is handling the conflict well — more than twice the national approval rating of 37%.

Conclusion & Geopolitical Insights

This study revealed a striking divide in public opinion. While national sentiment was largely critical of President Trump’s handling of the Iranian threat, the Orthodox and Chassidish Jewish community showed strong support for his approach. Their views reflect a distinct geopolitical perspective—one rooted in deep concern for Israel’s security and the broader stability of the region.
