Lifting the Lid on Salaries in the Frum Community
With our unique ecosystems and financial framework, the Orthodox Frum community has long operated outside the typical salary brackets, making it difficult for those in the workforce to rely on general benchmarks available.
With the goal to bring clarity to a topic that rarely makes the pay grade, Mispar launched the first-ever salary benchmark survey in the Jewish community to demystify compensation for employers and employees.
Responses were collected from both employers and employees across various industries, with employers submitting salary data for multiple team members and employees sharing their own compensation details. The result is a comprehensive, insider look at what people in different locations, fields and demographics are earning.
Follow along to explore some of the insights we’ve gleaned. We share snippets of salary averages, industry-specific trends and notable patterns among communities.
Who participated?
When collecting the data we aimed to cover a broad range of industries, communities and profiles. While the marrieds make up a significant proportion, we achieved a close representation between genders in our pool of close to 3500 position entries.
In the following overview we feature the top 10 industries represented in our survey, with the goal to clarify and demystify the stereotypes attached to the Jewish community in business.
Though each demographic pool has its own distinctions, we share a snippet of the most popular positions reflected in the data set as a whole.
This salary data breakdown reveals income distribution across various brackets by gender and marital status, sparking discussions on workforce income gaps and pay equality in Frum communities.
The patterns and trends displayed in the above graph bring up obvious factors and issues that affect the income patterns. We touch on some key points to spark an awareness and inspire conversations.
We take a deeper look into the communities with the highest representation in the survey and point out some interesting distinctions.
